ABOUT THE PROJECT

This project aims to foster in our students and teachers primarily a sense of awareness and pride for our European wealth of natural resources, but also a sense of respect and open-mindedness.
We must face up to the fact that we only have one planet and must live and act accordingly. On the one hand, students of the four participating schools will explore and find out how beautiful and diverse our environment is and on the other hand become aware of the environmental problems we are facing. Finally, they will learn what each one of us individually and as a European community can do to tackle these problems and live in an environmentally friendly way.

GOALS

With this project we seek to encourage an education in which all students will develop and enhance the 4Cs: communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity by working in international teams. This will also improve their basic skills in literacy, and above all foreign language skills such English, French and German. By working together internationally, learning and improving digital skills, by using eTools and through the use of the
eTwinning platform teachers and students will have the opportunity to cooperate with peers at a European level. After all, environmental problems cannot be solved by one country alone, but needs the cooperation of all European countries.

PROCESS

Four schools are involved in the project. These are Thomas More Catholic School from the UK (London), College Aristide Briand from France (Domont), Agrupamento de Escolas de Josef from Portugal (Obidos ) and Modellschule Graz, Austria . The Austrian School is coordinator of the project, therefore responsible for the smooth progress of the project. There will be four international student exchange meetings in the next two years. The Twin space will be used to store and display all our work in one place. There will be monthly updates on ongoing activities which will be discussed, planned and evaluated to make sure that progress is monitored and goals are met. Activities include field trips, workshops, lectures, group work and group discussions.

EXPECTED RESULTS

Participants will learn and improve IT skills, communicative skills and foreign language skills. They will learn about the diverse geography and biology of their own and their partner countries. During presentations and exhibitions, our pupils will improve and learn management skills. .
By taking part in this project, it will help both very talented and also weaker students to achieve their full potential and motivate them to engage themselves more in school work.
In workshops, field trips and group discussions about our ecological footprint, the effects of global warming , and zero waste movement, eco- friendly farming, we will reflect on how to live a lifestyle that does not harm the environment .
